Simple steps to create a functional wardrobe

With the changing of the seasons comes the changing of your wardrobe. For some, it is as simple as ' out with the old and in with the new', and for many others it is a quarterly struggle.

Well, I know a few steps you can take when you are overwhelmed by your wardrobe. First things first, create a mood board. A mood board is a collage of pictures gathered and arranged to express something; I see it as a tool to help focus your goal. This mood board will be specific to the season and your style, here are some examples:

After realizing your style through the mood board, you now have it as a reference, so when you go shopping you can make sure that your clothes all go with each other. But before you go out shopping you need to take stalk of what you already have, purging what you don't like or what doesn't fit any longer; and then make a closet plan.
A closet plan it very simple you just list the amounts you need of the different clothes, for example: 5 shirts, 5 bottoms, 2 dresses, 3 pjs, etcetera. Just make sure you include undergarments and outerwear. Cater your closet plan to your needs, work in an office have more office friendly options: 4 button ups, 2 slacks, 2 pencil skirts, etcetera; work on a farm: 4 t- shirts, 4 jeans, 2 flannel button up, etcetera. Once you take these steps you can shop with confidence and only buying what you need save money! Happy shopping.
