Fashion trends are always coming and going and its not sustainable to buy a new wardrobe every season. So I have some tips to help you survive the trends without breaking the bank!
Tip #1. Have the core of your wardrobe be the basics. Depending on how you dress most of the time, will determine what your basics are. For example, if five days out of the week you dress business casual for work than have your basics take root there; with neutral colored slacks and basic shirts, a black blazer, basic pumps or loafers, and so on. Just make sure that you stick with natural colors and everything matches and is inter-changeable.
Tip #2. Find what is in fashion that you actually like. This can be harder than it seems but don't worry if you cant find anything in the main stream that you like, try looking at fashion trends in subculture or even other countries! Personally I'm in love with some of the fashion trends going on in South Korea lately.
Tip #3. Take your favorite parts of the trend you have selected and add accent pieces to your basics. This could be a color, fit, or way you wear the clothing, what ever it is slowly incorporate a few pieces a season and enjoy. This system saves the bank and keeps you looking up to date in trends you actually like.
